JD R won't fire

I am trying to breath life into an R I bought. New fuel filters and I get small squirts from the fuel lines when I disconnect from the injectors. No fire. I towed it for a bit and the compression will warm the head. I'm pretty confident I have enough compression. She ran solid prior to sitting in the barn for the last 25 years. Am I missing something? I was told to pull the injectors and check the spray but don't have a manual yet with torque specs. Don't want to damage anything.

Thanks!

Wes

Well 5 weeks later and the old girl came alive tonight. She isn't pretty but she runs like a top. Finally found the issue and was kicking myself. The rack that the injectors are on which is controlled by the governor was sticking in the off position. Didn't matter where the throttle was it was Off.
Found it after I pulled the governor housing apart. Buttoned it up last night but was too late to start it. Fired right up tonight with the pony motor. The sound brings back memories of when I was a little kid had to call my dad so he could hear her over the phone. I know my grandfather is smiling somewhere up above tonight.

Well now I know how to put videos on Youtube. Thanks for the nudge Bmoeller

Here are links to the Sheppard Diesel and John Deere R running.

Can anyone tell me what Heavy duty Truck part Sheppard still manufacturers today? They had to develop it for their SD-4 tractor. If you have a Mack then you have one of theirs. Sheppard built Diesel tractors in the late 40s and early 50's.
