Challenger Tractors?

I was driving to a jobsite and I noticed a Challenger tractor on the side of the road. It was black and yellow like a CAT, but slightly different color yellow, kinda gold. Who makes these tractors and are they any good? Just curious because the local municipality has started purchasing them and I have been seeing more and more of them.

 2005 Ford F-350 CC 4x4 Dually. Of course :agreed: 6.0 PSD with Torqueshift Tranny.

Challenger was originally owned by CAT but was later sold to AGCO, I believe the majority of the line still uses CAT power but I may be mistaken.

I think when agco bought the cat challenger line they worked out some kind of a deal where the cat dealers could still sell their tractors along with some of the rest of the agco line from tractors to implements, and they gave it the challenger name. I wont garrentee that but I am pritty sure it's right, The cat dealer closest to me isn't pushing those tractors so I havent seen any around.

The newer series of swathers are now powered by a 3054. Everything except the 45-60hp tractors have a cat in them. Most of the Challengers are based off Cat designs.

They are really nice equipment, the only problem is when i have to order parts for them. The new 900 series is looking really good CAT Engine, trans, finals! Ya most are cat powered or they have Sisu Diesel engines in them, there actually very nice engines i havnt had any problems with them.
