John Deere Weight Bracket.......

OK...got a '56 John Deere Series 50........desperately need some weight in the front end. Stab a round bale with the 3 point bale spear on the back, raise it up, and the front tires BARELY touch the ground. Go over any rough ground and the front end starts coming up.

ANYONE got any ideas on how/where to add a weight bracket????? Hre is a pic of the tractor......

Yes, Those holes could be used to bolt a bracket to hold some weights. Also I see on the front there is a bracket holding what looks like a chain hook or clevis. Could possibly use that mount to bolt on some weight. Can't tell from picture what size bolts/holes are. Have to limit how much weight the bolts would hold.

Bigdraft, do you have water in the front tires? If not fill with water, its not much for the size of tires but every bit helps.

here's something to get you started.

mount here with 1 bolt and cut out for P/S

use these 2 bolts and have it mount behind the clevis

something like this

then you can use a piece of angle or square stock to angle up to the height and distance in front that you want it with a plate like this

Multipurpose weight bracket,....adds weight, and holds a couple extra bales of hay for you.

I'm a fan of dual purpose ideas....

I did this quick,..maybe add a gusset for strenght
