case 821 brake help

we have a case 821 front end loader we use on our farm to load our feed wagon. lately we've had some troubles with the brakes all of a sudden going out. the brakes are air over hydraulic. there is a hydraulic reservoir that gravity feeds down to two master cylinders that are operated by air brake chambers. i had one of the wheels off a few months back to do a wheel seal and i replaced the brakes pads at the same time. last week the brakes quit working and i found the reservoir to be mostly empty so i refilled it and bled the brakes as best i could and everything seemed good again. i looked over all the brake lines but could not see evidence of leaks. now today i was driving it and brakes weren't working. i checked the reservoir and it was still full. anyone else had any experience with a system like this?

Most likely it's the master cylinder blowing by (where you add the brake fluid).

Our 821 has done it a couple of times. You can get a MC kit from just about anywhere. I'm in Hawaii right now so I have no parts info on size of the MC bore. Good luck with the 821, they are still a decent machine.

do you know what type of brake fluid they use in the 821 too? when i changed that set of pads, i bled out the caliper and the fluid seemed like hydraulic fluid, i called the case dealership and they said hydraulic fluid would be fine but i kinda wanted to make sure. thanks for the help.

Dot 3 or 4 brake fluid is good. I know the hyd oil in the cold weather gave us the master cylinder problems we had..
