135 Massey

my little do all tractor is my little 135. its been rebuilt once and has to have over 12,000 hrs. on it i know even tho the ticker stopped working. now i have a idea or two but when i change the oil their is diesel in it. so when i do a fluid change i have to fill it about 1/2 or 2/3 full because after 500 hrs. the diesel will run into the oil and make the oil level rise up to the full mark and the stick, so im thinking i have a seal bad on it. what else could cause it and where would it most likely be?

Bad injector(s). Not atomizing the fuel thus not getting complete burn of fuel and unburnt fuel getting past rings. Not likley but possible injecter pump leaking fuel past shaft seal and fuel getting into timing cover/gears.
Either way get it checked out and fix or you will end up with a complete enginge rebuild

yep i realize that. let me clarify something, my dads tractor, not mine. i said it was because im pretty much the only one that uses it. i wasn't on earth in the 70's when he bought it he knows its doing this so i cant say much. i was just wondering. at least now its not used for PTO applications. its pretty much the mule to move wagons around the barnlot. so, if he wants to fix it one of these days thats up to him i guess

I am not sure about your fuel injection pump but some use the engine's oil to lube the bottom end of the pump - so if the pump is worn enough they may leak fuel past the P&B into the engine oil.

It is either the lift pump diaphram or the shaft seal on injector pump. Check the lift pump first. If you change the injector pump seal make sure and replace the o ring too.

Ah. Sounds like my boss. I went to start the 4430 last summer, and heard a weird noise. I knew what it was right away. Blown head gasket. WAY too much ether. Told him about it, and he says "Oh ya. Started doing that last week". They'd been mowing ditches the whole time.

yep i understand where your coming from neighbor used to have a 5400 john deere and never could figure out why it ran hot. long story short he just kept adding water to it. one day i needed to use it and took the side panels off and lifted the hood before it got too hot to use. found out that as much hay as he mowed and baled and time spent in the dust, he had never blown out the radiator! im 19 and he is a 62 year old truck driver/lifelong farmer
