Intermittent problem

Tractor is about 4 years old, 250 hours. New Holland TC33D.

The problem is, if I let it sit w/o starting for 3-4 days and go to turn it over, it just clicks. After I try 4-5 times it will "catch" and start like normal.

Starter issue?

Solenoid or low voltage issue from the sounds of it.

Are all of the battery connections clean?

bad bendix/start solenoid, have the starter rebuilt or replaced, also the smaller NH where known for having small cables and crappy grounds, but the 4 or 5 clicks tells me its a starter.

Can still be low voltage. Clean all connections on battery(ies) and clean up the ground(s). Start with the free stuff first.

Even if the voltage is staying up on the batery(ies), get them load tested. Could be bad. Can also load test the starter on the tractor. It will show hot spots on the cables or connections. The heat means a poor connection or a bad cable. Might even get hot enough to smoke or burn you, if it is bad enough.

If those tests pass, the starter solenoid would be the next place to look. But, if any of the other tests fail, if it has been a problem long enough, then the starter has probably been damaged and needs to be replaced. Armature could be burnt up from high amperage draw.

Another thought, given the lack of use, there might be corrosion/rust in the starter. Any rust on the magnets will be a problem.

Any update? I have the exact same tractor. My battery went bad about the same amount of hours and roughly 4 years old. My guess would be bad battery.

Tractor has been getting a lot of use so it hasn't had a chance to sit for a few days. I did take the battery cables off and cleaned them up. Battery is still good.

well, it was not the battery connections. Cleaned them all up, still have the problem.
Moving to the starter. I will check that wire and then if that doesn't work I will get the starter tested.
