cummins 8.3 more power

Just got a Case IH 9330 with the cummins 8.3, looking for a little more power. Turned the star wheel in the aneroid (I think that is what it is called) and that seemed to help a little bit but I would like a little more. Any ideas? Thanks alot, Brent.

Adjusting the star wheel doesn't really add any power. Loosening the spring only allows the fuel to come on harder, vs the amount of boost you have. Too much, and all you do is increase the smoke, with no real benefits.

Add a real pyrometer BEFORE adding power. A boost gauge is a good idea as well. Helps dial it in, or help assist troubleshooting low power.

Does it have the CAPS pump, or the inline P7100 pump?

Got the pyrometer. It's got the inline fuel pump, thought there may be a fuel plate under the aneroid like in the dodge trucks but there wasn't. Now what, turn the fuel screw?

There should've been a plate in there. As the pump is concerned, the only options you have now would be taking the fuel injection pump off and taking it to a good diesel injection shop to have the flow maxed out and balanced. Maybe add bigger delivery valves. Then, the next step would be bigger injectors and turbo. Then fine tuning it.
