John Deere 9030 series question.

When a company like Cummins or John Deere make different horsepower models using the same block [eg.) 15.0 L Cummins or 13.5L John Deere] do they beef up the connecting rods and stuff or is the engine identical, but the fuel is set higher?

2007 F-350 Lariat, 6.0L Powerstroke, Crew Cab, 4x4, Automatic --> ESSO XD-3 0W30 Synthetic.
1998 Chevrolet K2500, 6.5L, Reg Cab, 4x4, Automatic (220,000 KM and still going)

It will depend on the specific engine rating and its factory build.

As with Cat, the 435hp C15 can only go to 475 (electronically) before needing to change hard parts. The stock 475hp C15 engine can be uprated to 525 or 550 (depending on the serial # prefix) and either 1650 or 1850 ft/lbs torque, depending on the transmission torque rating. Similar things happen with Cummins, depending on the CPL number. Deere would be no different.

As hard parts go, you'll sometimes need to change to bigger injectors, bigger turbo and different pistons to get more power.
