Talking It aint no power stroke Dad

Had dinner with my dad and grandpa and my dads girl friend and her son. During dinner the conversation turned to my truck when Mike(dads gf’s son) said your dad tells me your truck is fast. Well yes, I’ve ran a best of a 11.759 in the 1/4 mile ect on N2O and I run around a 13 flat or so as it sits now without the N2O. Mike seemed pretty interested ect but I really don’t think he knew what the numbers ment exactly in reference to SOTP meter Anywho……dinner is over and its decided that I will take my grandpa back in my dads 05 F 550 6.0 and my dad take my truck and will go back to the house and get changed for the blues fest ect and we will meet back at his house. I leave first but go around the block because my dads 550 has a flat bed and a hydro seeder ect on back and I didn’t want to back were I couldn’t see. So I end up at the stop sign ready to turn left onto the main drag just as my dad hits his stopsign a block up from me also to take a left. I wait for him to pull out because I want to listen to my truck as he goes by and knowing my dad I figure he is going to get on it a bit…..he does. Actually he comes around the corner side ways blowing smoke with smoke rolling off the back tires. He has her pretty crossed up and am wondering if he is going to be able to save it…..he does and as he passes me I look to the right again and see a cop making a quick right from the same intersection my dad left from HAULING outa the smoke trying to catch up. Dad shut her down pretty quick and the cop caught up to him. At this point I'm almost in tears calling one of my buds telling him whats going on as I’m pulling out behind the cop in pursuit of my dad. Lights go on and my dad takes a side street and I pass by . I page my dad and he calls me back “so am I going to have to get some bail money for you?” I knew my dad wasn’t going to get in trouble, he just retired from the sheriffs dept that was in the process of pulling him over about a year ago but I had to give him some crap. “No” he replied ”The deputy got to the window, shook his head and said I wish you wouldn’t have done that in front of me, have a nice night. Then I told him sorry, its my sons truck and its all souped up and you cant give it much throttle without ripping the tires lose. He just shook his head and got back in the car. I was just trying to show off a bit, I didn’t think it was going to light em up like that, I bout lost it” I talked to Mike later and he told me “we got a bit away from the cop and next thing I know you dad jumped on it and we were doing well over 100 before I could blink “ I wonder were I get my nutty personality from

Thankfully the Furd chromasome(sp?) is MIA

Actually the 05 550 with the 6.0 isnt too bad on power. I dont like the trans compared to the allison but the motor itself runs pretty good. The new axels they put under the new fords rock too. Turning radius of that big old pig is GREAT. He actually inquired about doing some tweaks to his 2000 after he rode in mine when I got my first little juice box way back when. Droped that idea though when he got his new truck and the old 550 went to the mutants to abuse. Figured the employees didnt need anymore power

I just keep hoping I dont have to tell him "I told you so" the new 6.0's kinda gave me the willies and I advised against a new Ford. Actually when I bought my 03 if ford was still offering the 7.3 I would have considered them. Curently he has 15k on his 05 and the only real issue is the CD player is being a *****. Its a mid december too, I keep telling him to check into the trans but he dont listen too good. Couple guys complained of wierd shifts now and again but maybe they are nuts and the thing isnt going to puke?

Good story
I live in a small town where I know all the cops...went to school with most of them.
You oughta see peoples faces when I wind up next to one of them at a stoplight...and leave him in a cloud of tire and diesel's always priceless.

Wish my dad was as cool as yours though....mine has a 2001 7.3 Ford....but he only drives his Ranger....the F250 only has 22K miles on it.
