Truck was impounded tonight

I don't know if this is where this thread should go, but I need to vent. So im in bozeman for state FFA convention, arrived around 2pm lookin for a place to park, with no luck anywhere close, i park at the on campus theater, which i have done several times with no problems. so i go do my competitions and interview and we finished the first session around 8:30, at this point im lookin forward to going home and going to bed, seeing as how i had already been pulled over earlier in the day for speeding. (the cop was nice, gave me a warning and sent me on my way) however i still don't like being pulled over or anything. anyways, so were done with the session and i walk out to my truck, where it is nowhere to be found. at this point i was freaking out because i also had my new snowmobile in the back, with a combined value of $30,000, which is a lot for a high school senior i feel. all of my pride and joy which i have dumped every penny i have into. i wasn't sure if my truck had been stolen or towed, so what do i do, i panic and call 911, they tell me to call the impound which i did, but still nervous, because i can't trust anyone else with my truck plus the sled. so long story short, i didn't have the $150 cash to bail it out, so i was gonna get my buddy to round up that much cash, but then they hightailed it for dinner, so i made a run to a ATM to get cash, then came back, got the guy to unlock the yard, started her up, then made a couple rounds to make sure there weren't any scratches or dings anywhere, and if there were any there would have been some ***** chewin big time! ug, today was not a good day for me... plus im $150 bucks poorer :rippedhand: :ford :squish :splat     :shootself: :shootself: h :censored :censored :censored :censored :censored:censored :censored :watchout :40oz :40oz :gun: :gun:

I'm assuming they impounded it for parking where you weren't supposed too??

Those are some real richards if that's the case. Down here they might write you a ticket and stick it on your window or something. 9 times out of 10 they aren't going to tow you off unless it's a pretty serious violation...

Sorry to hear about that...hopefully your luck will get a little better.

Next time you have to park someplace shady like that just crank yer wheels all the way to one side. They may just pass it up if its to difficult to tow.

well i was parked in a campus theather parking lot, where i have parked several times before with no problem, supposedly its parking for theater customers only, but who says i wasn't going to go to a movie when i got out of convention for the night? i asked the guy who towed it how he did it, because i was parked in backwards so my sled didn't stick out into the rest of the parking lot, and if he'd said he drug it out forwards and screeched the rear tires, i'd probably be holding him at gunpoint. my buddy has a little ford taurus and he'd parked right next to me, but didn't get towed, which is a good thing because he had to drive me down to the impound. somebody needs to get a life if they don't have anything better to do than call in people and get them towed! why couldn't they have towed the little taurus??? you have like 1/4 of the value there and its easier to tow! anyways, still venting today... i think i have the right don't i? lol

Just jack it up and take the wheels off after parking...no way they can tow it without wheels.
