Ricers are the clowns of the highway

So it's been a while since I've posted in here, I'd given up the street racing for a while, but I just had to race last night.

My uncle got attacked by a pitbull last night and went to the hospital, so I headed over there to see how bad. Broken arm, and his ankles were torn up pretty good. I hung out for a couple hours and decided to head home around midnight. So I'm on the freeway doing about 70. Got the sunroof open just cruising and this rsx pulls next to me and stays even for a mile or so and is jumping ahead and falling back to keep even, so I figure he wants to go. I look over and just laugh and his passenger is nodding his head "yes" for some reason. I nod back and the driver hammers it, so I jump on it too I get even, start to pass and just leave him in the...smoke. No idea on the speed because my speedo was showing 0 and ------- on the odometer I slow down to about 80 here he comes TRYING to do a fly by, it wasn't happening. I put the pedal to the floor and give him a little more smoke and shoot ahead. They stayed behind me until my exit, they follow me and we come to a light. They pull to my left and I ask "wanna run from a dig, it's even faster there?" They're all laughing inside and yell "NO!" The light changed and we were still chatting and the front passenger asks "what you got in that thing?" I point at the door where it says "powerstroke turbo diesel" laugh and just lay on it from the light. At least they were good sports

haha, very nice. one of the socal guys with a very sleeper 550-600rwhp(at the time) dodge used to destroy those ricers on the freeway. they always would come back for more and he'd do it again. its amazing what 1200lb-ft can do with a locked converter in OD.

ok, no problem with the story, but what exactly is a ricer?
just a kid in a foreign car, or one with all the silly wings and can exhaust?

Well ricer or rice burner is a generic term used Asian cars, though its used mostly to belittle ones with speed speed parts, like wings, fart can exhaust, ect....
So the answer is yes to both

to me that two different things. i have been called riceburner before, and take no insult in it. i have usually had a commuter car from japan, usually old celica or some such. something i am driving the wheels off of and extracting as many cheap miles as i can.
might have a wheelbarrow strapped to the trunk, or back in the day 3 other concrete workers commuting as cheap as we could to a job.
then again, the goober with the 'can' exhaust and wings ARE the clowns of the highways, but i never really put the ricer moniker on that as it might well be a gooberfied neon as anything from japan. i see them as fast and furious wannabes.
