1000ft/lbs

I wanted to know what it would take to get my truck over 1,000ft/lbs of torque. I'm in the market for a new turbo so that will defenately be on the list (and suggestions?) but what else do I need to get there? I know peak torque is lower in the rpms so a smaller turbo should help up the toque more than the HP,correct?

I've got a 98 5-speed with 17.5* timing, #100, 4K GSK, modified afc arm, DDP stage 3's and delivery valves, and I might have missed a few things but they should be in my signature.

What dv's are they? 191's? You should be inthe 450-500hp club (at least once you get a turbo) which should equal out to 1000ft/lbs, roughly. I have heard great things from HTT's 62/13/71ss.

I'm not exactly sure. I got them at a deal with my injectors, but from their site i'd say they are roughly 191's DDP DV's I don't have them in yet. I'm waiting for the socket and a turbo. But they will be in when the turbo gets installed.

Since mickey quite making his dv's I think I'm gonna send my stock ones off to PDR for some of their Custom taper DVs and compare the two, hopefully on the dyno.

So once I save the money (may take some time, my turbo fund has died 6 times in the last two months: 1 cow out of nowhere, 1 calf caught a virus, 1 cow of an infection the day of the auction, 1 paralized after having twin heifers 1 month early, and the twins died too ) I'm thinkin a HTT 62/13ss and a remote e-brake.

Any other ways to get 1000ft/lbs? What else will I need besides the turbo?

A shot of good ole NOx should do the trick. Cheaper than a turbo too. I don't really recommend doing it, but it should get you there if you are desperate. You could build a kit for around $350, maybe $400.

No I'm not desperate and I don't want to run injectables. but Its an idea. If a turbo doesn't get me there then I might....but I don't want to

370's, 4k gov springs, laser cut DV's, 20* of timing, #0 plate, o-ring'd head, .020"+ marine gasket, and a HTT 62/13/71 SS got me there.

Now since I had the pump work done I am curious as to where I am now.

How much of a difference will 2.5* timing make? other then that I should be pretty close to what you had
