3406C nozzles

i have a 3ZJ19083 with Or-4337 nozzles and was wondering how much of an difference there is in the 4337's compared to the 8785's as far as hp goes. getting time to change nozzles out and wondering what to go back with ? the 4337's always seemed to smoke idling but never pulling.

thanks shovelhead i wasn't for sure what the 4337's were rated at... they run decent compared to what my engine serial calls for but really nothing to brag about...i do believe i will be going with the 8785's when i do change my nozzles considering i have ran the 4337's for years and really isn't all that impressed with performance. I gross at 120,000+ in very hilly terrain hauling coal so i need all the performance i can get... thanks again !

Be carfeul putting the 8785's in anything that came with the 4337's or the 8290's! these motors have 16.0:1 or as high as 16.4:1 compression with a small bowl and they wont pull regardless of where you set the timing...lots of smoke but no power! anything 15.9:1 and lower have a different bowl and seem to work fine with 8785's. Have tried them in two differnt motors with the same results! one was an 8pn with 8290's and 16.25:1 and the other was a late 3zj with 4337's!

mine is 3zj18524 with or8785 nozzles and the pump is tweeked, but i cant say what was done i bought it this way. 4p2062 is the number on the turbo, and it pushes 33psi of boost on a good pull, pyro hasnt seen 1000 yet and i haul b trains up in northern ontario, grossing 120 to 140k and can climb with some guys running tandem tandem setups. it pulls just fine and fuel mileage isnt terrible, comparable to the bosses '05 acert doing the same work.

ask someone to run your arrangment number through sis and see what pistons you should have and go from there.
