I first started 5 years ago with 2 little electric red plastic horns from Pepboys,....they lasted all of 10 minutes before I filled them with water and silt.
Back in the day when my truck was only 28 days old.....look real close and you can see them hiding behind my old "EAT ME" license plate....
After that huge waste of money($14.99),......I got a used set of Grover triple train horns, even though there's a ton of them on the market that are exactly the same but under a different brand name
,...but I was happy with them because they were plenty loud for anything I'd ever need.
I hate shiny crap(people call it chrome),...so from the beginning I knew there were a few things that needed changing, not only the shiny crap, but also the mount, because the triangular mount would have looked horrible on top of my truck.....so I fabricated my own.
Now updated to today......
New Era Diesel
, one of the sponsors for my BASH on the BAYOU event, offered up a Hornblasters kit to give away to a lucky winner. And I got to look at them sitting in my office for a whole damn month before the BASH event.
I couldn't take it anymore, and I called New Era Diesel and told them that I wanted just a set of horns(because I already have all the on-board air I'll ever need), ...because I was going open the box and install the horns on my truck, but I needed to buy a set to replace the ones he donated for the BASH.
He wouldn't take my money, he said that he was glad that I put on an event to keep people interested in the diesel community, and that he'd send out a set of horn just for me....
Big thanks to New Era Diesel
for these horns,...and 01Platinum
for drinking, eating, and helping me get them on my truck....they are RIDICULOUSLY LOUD
compared to my old set!!!!!!
And I can tell that I will have these a very very very long time
....unless an absolutely retarded deal comes along for REAL train horns(NATHANS)
