Detroit 2-71 main bearing dimensions

Anyone have a Federal-mogul book with 1086 CP main bearings for a Detroit 2-71 engine? I need the dimensions of the bearing for a project I'm working on. Thanks!

I brought out my manual and looked it up, then got called away and when I went back in, I could not find the thread.
Personally I would go with genuine Detroit parts, but the crank mains are 3.5 inches and the throws are 2.750 inches as standard.

John,

Thank you! Long story short but bearings in my Sheppard Diesel are in need of replacement and are no longer available. The only option is either re-Babbitt and have the bearings align bored or just have the block and caps machined to fit Detroit 2-71. No plan to run it alot or do any work with it. The root of the problem was since it was restored it sat about 10 years and run very little. The injection pump was never right and I fixed it after I took ownership of it. Two of the wrist pins have pitting now and the flywheel end of the crank is pitted as well. I'm planning to have it bored and fitted with the 2-71 bearings. Looks like she needs to be bored .500 since its 3.000 with 2.750 throws.

Does DD make their own bearings? Just figured they were Federal mogul. The engine will never see 200 hours between now and when my wife has an auction.

I appreciate the response. Thanks

Wes
