Alum vs. Stainless

Tell me the differences between aluminum vs. stainless exhaust pieces. I am going to be getting a delete pipe and was wondering if there is really any difference between the two. I understand at the back end the SS will look better but it is not exposed in this location. I don't deal with road salt or any other corrosive stuff. Am I better off to pay for the stainless or will the aluminum suffice?

Thanks

If your in an area that doesn't salt the road, then I would for sure just go for the aluminized. That is if you don't care about the looks after awhile. On my last truck my hole system was aluminized and worked great. I live in Oregon and they don't salt the roads. I looking right now for a 4" exhaust for my truck and I going with the Alum. system so I can use the rest of the money for other mods. Although it would bee nice to have a full SS exhaust, I just can't afford it.

YEP, the biggest reason for SS is it's excellent against corrosion and it also looks awsome. Aluminumized is ok but tends to start rusting after time.

I am just down the road from you in Albany. I plan on having this thing until it falls apart. I know short term the alum pipe will be fine, will I end up replacing it over a long period of time. I would rather do it once and be done with it.

Thanks for the responses

Oops. Sorry about that. I didn't even look to see where your from. I'm not totally sure just how long the alum. will last here. I just haven't had one for long enough. But I'm pretty sure it will last a long time. But if that is going to be the only thing that your going to be doing to the exhaust I would just go stainless (just for piece of mind). I think that they only cost about $10 more then the alum. ones.
