Fuel cell foam

I'm wanting to get a fuel cell for a project but most of the ones I find have foam in them. I'm assuming it is to prevent sloshing. Anyone know if diesel fuel will eat the foam and send it down the fuel lines?

1996 F250, 219K miles, manual tranny. Beans Diesel Stage 1 injectors, 5 position chip, homemade intake, 5 in. straight pipe exhaust.
