Obs Subs

OK. I need some idea's for subwoofers in my pickup.
I don't know if i can fit subs behind the seat or not.
The other idea i had was to take out the fold down console seat and build a sub box there with cup holders and a center compartment

I have 2 8" subs behind my back seat. They just fit and you don't have to move the seat forward.

They sound great. They are MTX speakers. They're not shallow. They have the subs in front with mids and tweeters on top. I have a 300 w amp under the seat poweting them. When my son is sitting in the back seat he tells me to crank it up so he can get a back massage. I replaced the factory speakers with Infinity speakers and a 200w Kenwood head unit. It makes a nice combination, sounds really good.

My wife bought them for me about 6 years ago. I asked her about them and she said she got a good deal because they were discontinued. If you want I can take a picture to give you an idea of what they are and how they fit. Maybe you can find something similar from another manufacturer. I can either pm you the picture or give me an email address and I'll email it to you.

the idea you have for the center flip down is pretty cool...depending how much bass you want relies on how much air space you give your sub...some are more air hungry than others...I would say a decent sized center console setup would give you the most air space for at least a 10" woofer or maybe even a 12...:

This website is great for building custom boxes...I made one to go underneath my extra cab seat and I was very pleased with the results...if you have a certain speaker you a looking and buying, you can usually find what the recommended air space for the speaker...crutchfield has a lot of good technical info too about wiring your speakers for 4 ohms or 2 ohms and even 1 ohm if your amp can handle it...
