Stereo recomendations

So I am now tired of using the iPod and the FM transmitter. My question is about stereo's and speakers.

1. What is the best stereo for the money, that will be iPod compatible, work with the steering wheel controls, and have bluetooth. It doesn't need to be double din or Navigation but suggestions are welcome.
2. What are good speakers to replace the factory. I do not want to cut or modify anything (yet).
3. Possibility of running an amp in the future, what ever I get I want to be able to use in the future with the amp.

Any other suggestions are welcome. Thanks

Jason

Ive been involved with stereos with the late eighties and even competed bacck when. Both my SD and my trail blazer ss are both done up.

Head unit:I always buy Alpine. They have a high speed ipod interface and works awsome.

Amps. I used to run the old PPI art series amps but the new one are garabage. I now run the JL Audio. I suggest buying more amp than you need. Its better to have way more power and thus you wont clip the amp and cause distortion. I run a 300/2 on my from JL audio speakers. They are rated for I think around 100 watts. The amp put outs 150x2. They jam and I never blow them

My componets I run in both vehicle are different. I run the boston Acuostic pros in the Superduty. I love Bostons. The are super bright and take a beating. My Trailblazer I run JLs. the are good just not as bright as the JLs. I run a 6.5 mid bass in the front of the Sd with a tweeter and the same in the back. I suggest mount the rear speakers in the rear door verses the rear c-pillar. They sound better. A 6" is a little tight and made need a spacer on the speaker to fit but it does work

Subs...I love Jls. they sound the best....period

hope that helps. If your near michigan I have connections to get deals

what ever you use make SURE it has a TRUE digital interface...one that
allows the head unit to control the ipod & displays the music on the head unit.

the PIONEER P-BUS digital interface allows you to connect up to FOUR add-on
devices (mix & match as you like)...as new formats come out you dont have
to toss the head unit...just buy the add-on device, connect 3 wires (data, power
& ground) and youre good to go.

get a unit w/ at least THREE pre-amp outputs (front / rear / sub) the pioneer
pre-amp outputs allow you to ALSO run 'em as HI / Mid / Sub if you like.

plan your system...and allow for growth...theres not a TON of room in trucks.

for the amps...nothing EQUALS JL Audio's SLASH SERIES AMPS, rock solid, powerful & STABLE !

OH. Great setup. You do such a great job installing your stuff "clean". Everything looks "straight from the factory". What is the thing beside your speaker box in the third picture that has 1244 on it?

Better jobs have certainly been done...and if i had to do it over, i would
have mounted the speakers in the rear doors.

Ive always thought i should PAINT to match the tweeter grills....certainly
the ones in the rear corners.

the "thing" next to the sub woofer is a 1.5 Farad Capacitors, think of it
as a "temporary" voltage/energy "tank" for the subwoofer (500w rms) amp.

when LARGE thumps are needed by the subwoofer its POSSIBLE to DRAIN
the amp powersupply (and internal capacitors)...the 1.5 Farad external
"cap" provides stored energy <like a battery>...it drains and refills <quickly>
based on the energy demanded & consumed by the SUB amp.

having a an external capacitors prevents the SUB from "CLIPPING" the
music because its run out of voltage/current.

10 L5 an 12 will not fit.

the L7s require too much depth.

the SOLOBARIC HITS HARD....rated at 500w RMS and capable of handling 900w
PEAKS, its perfectly matched to the JL 500/1
