Stereo question

I was wonderin if there was a way to hook an amp and subs up to a stock head unit in an 05 f-250. Like what kind of adapters i would need to make it work and all that. I dont know much about car audio so if anyone could help me out it would be great. Thanks

either you have to get an adaptor that ties into the rear speakers and has output to rca plugs or I know some amps you can tie into

Oh ok. So i can branch off of one the rear speakers. Is there like a signal booster that would go in between the line from the speaker and the rca jacks on the amp?

You'll need a line converter, something like this.

One for the front set of speakers and one for the rear (assuming you want to amp both the front and rear speakers).

Until recently, mine was set up with 2 amps and a sub with the factory head unit. I didn't hook the system up, I had it done. But when I put in the new head unit, I had to undo a lot of it, so I got a chance to see what was done. Like Zach mentioned, you will need line converters to do this... And since you mentioned a sub, you will have to tap into the rear speakers for it as well.. Aside from a lot of splicing (to get the converters installed), it really didn't look all that difficult to do..

But, for what he's going to spend on line converters, he might as well as buy a real headunit and use that... It'd make everything much easier and give you better control over your sound, especially the sub.
