Project Going Broke 2009/10 Custom Stereo

Allright..Im redoing my stereo this winter. It will have a Fibraglass door, Rear center consol with (2) JL Audio 10/7, Custom Front center console holding a 17" LCD monitor for the rear and tons of power 2600 to be exact. Words cant describe what Im about to do but you all know I dont do anything half A**

I sold most of my stuff this week.

Here is my new list

Alpine w505 DVD player(buying this week)
Custom 17" LCD montior for the rear viewing
Qty 2 of PPI Art series A600.2 (old school amps) 300x2
Qty 1 of PPR Art series A404.2 (old school amp) 50x4
Qty 1 of PPR Art series A1200.2 (old school amp) 1200x1

Im doing 2 sets of boston pros in each of the front door(one A600.2 on them) with a JL Audio ZR800(8" mid bass(with another A600.2 on them) Up top, that little corner piece on the door im mounting another Boston tweeter(2 channels of the a404.2(50x4)). That is one door

The rear door will house another 6.5 boston pro with the rear channel of the A404.2

The subs are Going to be (2) Jl Audio 10w7 in a custom rear Center consol. I am switching to Rear buckets

The bed is also getting redone with (2) chrome Nitrous bottles to help with the bling. I have no intentions of every using it

It will take all winter and will be full custom. The guy helping me is a good friend and does only custom audio for this company. He isnt cheap but helps that he wants to swap labor on his car http://www.cartunesstereo.com/installs.aspx

It will be fully custom and here are the first picks. The Tear down

Old sub box going bye bye

Checking the fit of the front buckets mounted in the rear

All interior being removed

Here are the amps and new head unit

I will post pics as I go like all my builds. Im also going to be redoing the underneath...axles, custom brakes,,,,,ect

I hope you like this build

Rob I'm getting all nostalgic looking at those amps! Where did you find them? Or are they still available up there? I wish I could find a pic of my first Punch 150 or the Pink SoundStream R6.0 someone ordered and didn't want.

Are you going to lay down some DynaMat or other sound deadening material?

I am going to sound proof the truck with a certain materail other than Dynamat. I know of something that is 1/8 the cost and almost as good....

Those ppi amps are not for sale. The 2 A600.2 I bought new in 1997 and the A1200.2 and A404.2 I bought about a year ago from a guy out of a show car. They are mint.

Rob, please PM me that material. I spent way too much on DM for what it covered.

The amps look great man!

Today I bought/ordered a set of Jl Audio ZR800 mid bass for the custom front doors. Thats right...8" midbass with a A600 amp on them....

Also bought off ebay a brand new set of Boston pro 4.5 componets. Instead of having a set of 6.5 componets in the kick panels we just switched to a set of 4" and tweeter in the kick....much brighter

This is going to be nice. Those JLs are great. Are you integrating the DVD in the rear seat entertainment?

I sold my old Alpine DVD to JP Customs and bought the new Alpine W505. It has a dual process and with that head unit I can play my ipod or radio and use the CD player to play the DVD for the rear. I am going to make a custom front center consol that will be molded to the front dash to the rear of the front seats. It is going to hold a 17" LCD monitor...I think that is big enough for the rear passengers...you think. They will be able to listen to their head phone

Thanks Rob. I'm thinking about putting the stand-alone DVD headrests in mine. Just something to keep the nieces/nephews quiet. The dual process on the new Alpine does sound like a nice option, though.

Yes, 17" should be fine. Though, for this bling monster of yours it may be a bit small.
