Component Speakers VS Conventional

Component Speakers VS Conventional

I am thinking of adding This Component System up front or These Speakers. Do I have to run an amp to power the components, as I recall you do not "have" to. Is there an option other than loosing my rear storage try to put a sub in this truck if so please share. thinking of a little more audio in the truck. Would I be better off to just do a good 3 way speaker front and rear. I was planning on just a good 3 or 4 way in the rear doors as well.

I'm not a fan of Pioneer. I would recommend JL. I also like Infinity if you want to spend even less.

You don't have to run an amp but it will help, a lot. I used to run JL components. I don't like components in the newer trucks so I switched to coaxials. The trucks with tweeters in the a-pillars can play all kinds of crap with imaging. I use a parametric with the right delays to make the coaxes image properly. This is almost impossible, on a budget, if you use the a-pillar spots for the tweeters in components.

No A-pillar speakers in my truck...thats where I was thinking of sticking the tweeters off the components. Just thinking out load right now.. I gotta be honest Josh, I am a big Pioneer fan. I like my Kenwood DVD but I think Poineers stuff is still a notch better. Nothing wrong with JL for sure..not sure about Infinity I could take a look at it but I think I can get more for my money else where. Of course the brand different is just my .02 cents.

Everyone has their brand preferences. I've never cared for Pioneer speakers and after my experience with my AVIC I will never own another Pioneer deck.

I found 2 sets of Alpine coax 6x8s and an Alpine amp for $100 off of craigslist. You should try there and see what you like. But you will get better sound from seperates, just have to get the right placement of the tweeter.

I left the Alpine Coaxles in mine for now. I have an Alpine amp on them as well. Then a Alpine linear sub system behind my seat. Thinking about upgrading that though for some more bass. Then I will see how the doors are holding up.
