B-quite Install. Sound matting.

Working on installing B-Quite Ultimate sound matting. This product is similar to Dynamat. Just cheaper. Sorry about the picture quality. I took the pics with my black berry.

While i have it apart i also replaced the heater core because of an internal clog. flushed the cooling system Fix and arranged all the wiring under the dash that was iffy from years of quick installs. Plumbed 14 gauge monster cable speaker wire to all 7 factory speaker locations. Steam cleaned the carpet and floor seats. Got new floor mats and mud flaps. And fixed some window tint that was showing some wear.

You are thorough!! Great job. I'll be tackling another one this summer as well. I will have to try the product you used.

Did the B Quite stuff work? I was thinking of doing this to my truck plus adding some insulation.

I did one layer in my Chevy. It did work, however I think you really need to do the firewall like Erik did. I would also do two layers. Once I get a shop built I will tear everything back, including the dash and put a second layer in the truck, and do two layers up the firewall.

Erik, did you put down a layer of vibration damper first; followed by a layer of sound absorbing foam?

I'm tearing Chum apart this summer when she goes in for surgery. She needs to quiet down a lot to tame the Cummins in front of a WT cab with no insulation.

i didn't realize you can or would want to use them in conjunction. So if this isn't enough i will order some of this http://www.b-quiet.com/vcomp.html and put it in at a later date. I can have the seats carpet and dash out in about two hours.

I wish I could have my dash out in two hours! The whole firewall is getting Reflex sprayed-on; both inside and out, from the dash down on the firewall and floor. I think that may be enough like ultimate to work that issues then lay some Vcomp over that where I can.

I'm thinking Ultimate and Vcomp on the roof and Ultimate on the door skins with Vcomp on the inners.

Thank goodness Chum is only a Regular Cab. It looks like I can do all of this for about $300 less than I spent on my Extended Cab using Dynamat.
