Engine Wiring Harness

I have a no start condition on my 2004 F250, I thought it was slow to start last week, I changed the batteries and still no start, checked a few things, ended up having it towed to the dealer, they are saying that the entire engine wiring harness needs to be replaced, out of all the threads I read on the forums, I dont remember seeing anything like this? anyone heard or had this done to their truck?
2004/140Kmiles $1600ish, Wow?

2004 F-250 CC, 4x4, 6.0, Crimestopper Remote Start/Alarm, Fumoto Drain valve, Cab Clearance Lights Added, Skweeker Idle Up Mod, Hatchie Bottom Seat Covers, Marinco Block Heater Plug, Line X, Retrax Bed Cover, Zoodad Air Mod, 140K Miles, coolant filter, egr/cooler/oil cooler replaced at 90K miles under warranty.

Unless something chewed it up I would get a second opinion. Check the inertia switch for the fuel pump, behind the passenger side kickpanel. Also check all fuses. Good luck. Hopefully someone else will jump in with more knowledge.

Well, the dealer has had it since last Friday, just picked it up today and it runs great again. They replaced the engine wiring harness. I hope all is well, I will be heading on a 1500 mile RT south next month and a 1500 mile RT North this fall, if my voltage is in the O.K range on my FICM, should I let it go, I am interested in the re-flash for fuel mileage? I ask the service dept today, he didnt know what I was talking about. I should probably leave well enough alone and just drive it.
