coolant loss

On my home from up north I lost about a gallon and a half of coolant. How can i tell if its the headgasket or the egr valve stuck open

Is it leaking out the resoviour tank or underneath the truck, or not at all?

Its not leaking at all.

I was running hard on the way home. I was pulling a 7x12 classic enclosed trailer with Jason program race with tq lock up at 80 mph. Thats about 25 lbs psi all the way home

Sounds like you lost a gasket then......Its probably burning the water.

There should be some white spots, the coolant residue somewhere on your motor or around the resovoir tank, if it's just the cap that failed. Where was the top of the coolant at when you started the trip? Was it filled to the top?
