Decibel readings/with and without 2 stroke oil

Here is an update to db readings. I kept the video short. The out come was interesting on one point, the interior quieted about 3 db's. While the inside of driver side wheel remained the same.

No additives in one, 2 stroke oil mixed at 1 ounce per gallon in the other.

Curious what the sound frequencies are my theory is the two stroke changes combustion resulting in slower detonations. Just a theory.

Good idea using the app. When I started using 2 stroke I could tell it was quieter but never could put a number to it. After reading recent report posted earlier on the forum about the pro/cons of 2 stroke I debated whether or not to stop using it. The report was very thorough and used industry standard testing methods which in the end indicated adding 2-stroke was not all that beneficial - if at all. But knowing several people that use it in their older diesels for several years, and would never give it up, I wonder if the same tests run on earlier designs would yield different results. ??
