HELP ALTERNATOR/BATTERIES REPLACED X 2 IN LESS THAN 6MONTHS AND BROKE DOWN AGAIN

HELLO!
So, we are broke down again. Truck just dies while driving. Replaced the alternator and both batteries twice. Last time was mid April. We can't keep replacing these parts --$1100 each time. Ouch
Any advice for what will take out the alternator?

It would depend on why the generator failed. If it had a bearing go out, it can be caused by pressure washing the grease out of the bearings. If it was brushes it can be caused by something abrasive, like dirt and sand getting into the alternator.

Many years ago I replaced an alternator on a Thunderbird and the new one went out after a few days. It turned out to be a bad ground on the alternator.

Sometimes new or rebuilt alternators fail. Diodes can burn up at any time.

Make sure you are getting the correct batteries for your truck. Smaller batteries can't supply the amps needed to start the truck. And will cause over-usage of the alternator.

What are the symptoms of your breakdown? May not be battery-alternator related, possibly another issue as these trucks can quit running for many various reasons. Need more details on scenario-symptoms of breakdown. Does it restart after it quits running, or is it a crank no fire condition?
