Best place to tap an oil supply

Putting a bypass filter on soon and was wondering if anybody has used the Oil Pressure Test Port that in in the picture on page 24 of the 6.0 bible?

Or would you just tee off of the Oil Pressure Switch which in the picture on page 25 of the 6.0 bible?

Thanks

If that's the one just above the oil filter then yes, I have my 7.3 supply and return right there. I actually used the Oilguard website install because I liked it better than Amsoil's recommended installation.

Large, why dont you just run off the top of the oil filter housing... Get you a billet cab that is already tapped for a good price from DJs Performance OR I will send you my stock cap and you can see if you can drill and tap it...

I would rather not have a connector and hose hanging off the top of the filter cap. After looking some more at the project and the bible I guess the oil test port is pretty buried, so that leaves the EOT and the EOP switches to tee off of.

LargeCar, I'm with you on this one. I'm about to complete the plumbing on the same install but didn't like the idea of coming off of the filter cap even though I have one that I'm not going to use.

The test port does look buried down there and I was also looking at the the oil press sensor for a by pass feed and a pressure feed for my guage.

For the return, I bought an oil fill billet cap on ebay and a swivel fitting from amsoil.

Just a matter of getting the plumbing fittings the right size. I don't know if the pressure sensor fitting is imperial or metric. Perhaps someone knows the fitting size. I believe amsoil piping has 1/8" fittings.

I mounted my filter on the only space available on the pass. side beside the rad. I looked at mounting it where HHRECOVERY had his but didn't like my odds of the filter case getting hit from the axel or rocks.
I mounted my coolant filter on the frame rail below the power brake booster and out of the way of the front drive shaft. There's not a lot of options where to mount the aux filters on this truck.

I hope I can get a see through gas filter and take the filter out of it just to use it as a sight glass on the return side. I think I will drill and tap the filler tube as low as I can get one of the hex flats to screw in a return line. I think I will use AN 4 stuff. Still putting together the pieces.
