SX2d Dual Stage Diesel Nitrous System

If you add this system, or any system, why wait until full throttle to hit the bottle?
Could you apply the first stage, at say 10 psi, to help spool up, then hit the second stage at say 20 psi?

When are you guys applying the juice?:

What is the best spot for the 2 stages? (1 in just before the intercooler, and the 2nd in the elbow?)

:thanks:

Most system that I have heard of have an actuator with a pressure switch attached to the pedal. When you hit full throttle it depresses the pressure switch, which in turn activates the actuator and the NOS begins to flow.

If you had this system http://www.nitrousexpress.com/Pages/Maximizer2.htm, you could do pretty much what you wanted too.

Yes, the system I'm looking at, you can tune for pressure (Boost)and/or time.

So, even if you only were making 10 psi boost on the line, it wouldn't be as black, and it would keep your temps in check while staging.

And with the tuning of this system, you can ramp the flow up as fast as you want, with as much as you want.

Why wouldn't you add NOS at half throttle? (Why wait?)
If you can set the amount...

You could, depends really on your truck and traction issues, staging, etc.

I have the Cold Fusion kit and I just have mine set up to dump nitrous at full throttle. Can't complain because the only time I'm using nitrous is going down the track...soon as I come off the line I'm full throttle so it kicks in...can't complain....really don't need help staging...could use some help holding it on the line so it doesn't roll off through the lights

I have the Zex kit and it is setup like HD_F250's is.

It comes on at full throttle and works very well.

You really need it in the beginning so you can rip that first 60'.
That's where you make or lose time.
