Walker BTM

I posted this question on another site (Not TDS). I got a couple resonses, but I like to gather as much info as possible.

I'm living on a budget here. I have an 04 F350 CC LWB SRW truck. I recently learned a little about the Walker BTM. They seem to have a good effect on the 7.3 and I have heard a couple say they have a similar effect on the 6.0. I'm looking mainly to lower my EGT's as I tow 12,500lbs during the camping season. I'm also looking for something that won't annoy the wife and neighbors when I am driving it. I figure the Walker BTM is only about $60 and some time, so the price is right.

Question is, is it mcuh of a change over the stock muffler or should I just save my pennies and go for a turbo back system? I got a quote for the MBRP aluminized system installed with a 5" tip for $675. 11 times the price of the Walker BTM. Is there enough difference to warrant the price difference?

tgatch....first off...welcome to the site. Lots of helpful fellas and ladies here. Pull up a chair...hang up the hat and stay awhile.

I had a BTM on my early 99...and it did respond well. If the muffler on the 6.0 is like the muffler on the 7.3...then the BTM is a drastic improvement. Its a straight thru muffler...almost like a resonator. Much better flow through.

Is the MBRP hard to install? Uses factory hangers, right?

I'm also very interested in the Walker BTM. I have an 9,000 Lb TT and the Innovative tow tune. I don't want to screw with the Ford warranty on a Turbo-Back system.

How do EGT's wtih the Walker BTM comapre to the EGT's in a MBRP Cat-Back system on the 6.0?
