Dad beat me too the punch

My dad just stopped by, with his new truck, its a 03 f250 lariate 4x, 56,000 miles, seems to be all stock..the oasis report showed several flashes, heater blower motor replace, and egr cooler replace....does this sound like normal stuff, and should he buy the extended warranty, it will only be good for 2 years which equals to 30k miles of his driving habits, but he can get it for 1500.00:thanks:

he has a lot of miles left, but not a lot of time....5 years will be up this year... and i would say NO, dont get it...they wanted me to get an extended warranty when i bought my truck. read the fine print, im pretty sure you have to pay like 500 or 1000 deductable if with that extended warranty...some do...so in that case you have to figure that you would have to have 2000+ in repair expense to pay for itself...

How long is the engine warranty good for. I know it's up to 100k, but is there a time limit on it?

I would stay away from the extended warranty. There are a gamble. If you have that kind of money to spend then use it on upgrading some of the weak points on the 6.0l. Like ARP studs and new gaskets. JMTC

Really depends on your comfort level. I bought one with my truck only because on my previous Cummins it MORE than paid for itself. It bought 2 IPs($4k) one tranny($1500) and front diff($800). When(if) my 6.0l finally blows the head gaskets or dumps the tranny then I'll be glad its there.
I bought the 2 year unlimited mileage for $1500 on both trucks with a $100 deduct. that DOES cover the turbo and electrical(some dont). They were always quick to pay and no hassle whatsoever. Just my $0.02!
