Ficm

I just thought of something, I'm getting the P0611 code on my truck. Some weeks I've got to change the tune in it 5+ times and it's starting to get an error every now and then and doesn't finish the download, so I've got to start it over.
Could a bad FICM make my truck have crazy cool/cold starts? anything below 40 and it's like only 4-6 cylinders are firing, it jumps and smokes for the first 10-30seconds.

yea, it was fine last winter after it got all new injectors for like the 2nd time. This truck is crazy, like I've said b4, I think it's had something like21 fuel injetors in it in the 2 years I've had it. Also, the injectors wont cycle on cold mornings. If I plug it in it starts fine but, the injectors still don't cycle. I've been running 2 cycle mix for about a year now. 1oz/gal in the summer and 2oz/gal in the winter. It helped clear the smoke on cold starts(b4 the truck would smoke white/blue till it was up to running temp)

I just had that same problem with my truck. Usually the coldest it gets here is around 20-30*F. If my truck sat overnight it would take a couple of times to start. When it finally did start, it would white smoke like crazy and run really rough for about a block. I took the Looney Wild off and it still did it. Eventually the other morning at work it just wouldnt crank. Had to get it towed to Ford and they replaced the FICM under warranty. Runs perfect now in the cold weather. Havent put the Looney Wild back on it yet because I dont have the cold weather files from DJ.

wish I still had a warranty, ticker just clicked to 110,100. I've been running 35's for the last 40k miles of that so, I'm really at about 115,000 miles.

I couple of months ago, I bought a spare FICM off of Ebay for $100. I you do that, then you have an excuse to get Eric to tune your FICM for you.
