I know that we can get one, but will we actually be able to use it? Would we have to buy an additional computer piece or does it just plug into a port similar to OBDII?

No it should just bolt right on, you may need to splice some wires but thats about it.

The scan gauge II works on our truck and give you a whole lot more info. it just plugs into your OBD II port.

i can get one i just wonder about wiring it in and such. if a truck doesnt have that console does it still have the wiring for one. that would be ideal

The lie-o-meter is basically useless unless you want to get one with the lights in it.
