FYI, those of you who are in states with smog checks on diesels.
Note: I am stock, so had no worry of passing but thought I would let others know of the smog check process.
Had mine done the other day at a repair/tire shop where I get most of my repairs and tires done so they know me well. The smog tech person did get under the truck to check the exhaust system, looked under the hood with flashlight to see that it was stock and every thing hooked up. Then hooks up computer to under dash diagnostics port to check for codes etc. Then he his required to accelerate motor twice while looking at exhaust with a Calif. spec white painted board behind tail pipe looking for smoke.
When all passes he prints out a certificate and I pay $47.50 so CA will issue a new registration.
