Budgeting for phase 2

Ok guys, trying to figure out how far I wanna go here, but I have some questions so I can budget for the parts.

When is o-ringing and fire ringing the head needed? Also is fire ringing good to do on a daily driver? heard both ways yes and no?
I am planning on head studs and possibly a EGW.
EGR Cooler Delete.
Hamilton 110lb Valve Springs. ( are they needed)
Hamilton Push Rods ( are they needed)
Also Possibility of a Fass or Air Dog (which one)
Anything else I can do for the best mileage/tow rig. I want reliability over huge power. I would rather budget for these mods and get them done before it is not needed.

Thanks

Neel

Before you start worrying about fire rings/ o-rings/ valvesprings etc. make sure that you have some fuel upgrades planned (lift pump, CP3, and injectors)e them. Some of your other upgrade needs will depend on whether or not you plan to stick with the stock turbo or not.

Turbo is a posibility but I don't want to loose my exhaust brake. So I'm not sure what options that leaves. IIRC industrial dropped the VGT so Fleece is the only other one I am aware of. As far a heavy fueling mods right now I'm going to hold off. Until I have some supporting mods ie studs and cooler delete out of the way. So will it hurt anything to do vavle springs and pushrods when I do studs?

i would say head studs never hurt anyone unless your going to do some crazy modding u wouldnt need fire rings the studs would be fine i heard some guys with stock turbos and chips turned all the way up were blowing head gaskets

I'll be honest Neel. I think you're over killing for how your going to use the truck. I think how you're set up now is just about perfect. I mean, you're never gonna race or pull the truck are you? Don't get me wrong, you know I love the idea of moding, I just don't know that you'll wreak the benefits of the mods you listed above.

Cooler is coming off soon, Im just thinking out loud here... I will also be doing the lift pump before truck hits 100k for sure, I really like the idea of more filtration. the springs and push rods may be over kill. and I agree Im not gonna "sled pull" or drag race it, but it does get worked hard so I was just thinking that if those parts help for the high HP crowd how are they gonna hurt in a long term tow rig? ( overkill I tend to agree) I just want to do it right once.

I got to agree with easy. Put ur money aside if u want to budget but i wouldn't worry about it unless u need to. if it breaks then u will have money put away to stud or whatever. if it don't break u will have money to mod ur next truck. i understand looking for reliability, but who's to say its not old reliable right now.

Neel get the EWG it will keep your turbo at a 1 to 1 ratio I have a smarty and it blew my head gasket now i have the EWG and i am amazed at how much it opens also you can do a grid heater delete and or relocate it it will open the intake up and the pedal responce it improved a lift pump will offer better filtration and and more power I just put all of this on and studs with fire rings and ported my head while the head was off

Here are some things I would recommend

Air Dog
Headstuds
Valvesprings and pushrods (do it all at once while you are in there)
Intake horn with TV delete and grid heater delete
Cooler delete as you mentioned

O rings/fire rings would not be needed for what it sounds like you will be doing with the truck. With the ARP 425's you will be good to 50 psi safely. It would help for us making suggestions for the next steps if your sig was filled out with everything you have done so far. I wouldnt recommend bigger injectors/nozzles as it will run hotter EGT wise, until you are ready to upgrade the turbo, especially if you are going to be doing any heavy towing. Is your truck a auto or manual?
