Exhaust Filter??

Hey guys, just bought a 2010 3/4 ton with 6.7 cummins. I have some questions about the DPF system. I plan on leaving this truck stock for a while. So question number one, how often does the truck have a burn-off and also how do you know when it is happening? Do you get a message on the evic?? So far with 500km on truck it is showing 17-18mpgs at 60mph! I am very surprised and happy with that!

Otherwise, i love the truck!! Just want to know how to keep an eye on the DPF system.

I am not completely sure with all the EVIC will show on the 2010/2011 but the best advice I can give you it to limit stop and go driving and do little to no idle time on. Regens are base on how dirty the filter gets and the stop and go driving and idle time is what fills it the fastest. Drive it on Hwy and work it. The 6.7 does a lot better when it is worked hard. Just my 0.02 cents

Drive it with a heavy foot on the go pedal. I do have a fair number of short trips driving on the farm. I do try to limit my idling to less then 1 minute at a time , but when on the road I don't go easy on the acceleration and I don't exactly follow the speed limit.

Yeah we have three of these 6.7's in our road district shop at work, and they have a tendency of sitting at idle or slow moving due to the job, and we are constantly haveing to take them on special trips down the road with a heavy foot just to get them cleaned out. Not a big deal though.

On the hunt for a 7.3 preferably CC or Ext. Cab SB...Let me know of any deals.
