quick question

just a quick question. planning an aux fuel tank in bed. will use the kit to connect directly to the filler hose. will this drive my computer crazy. like going 500 miles with what amounts to no fuel leaving the main tank. i dont care if the overhead is accurate about "miles to empty" but i dont want to screw up the rest of the computer functions. has anybody had a problem

My overhead isnt acurite any way so i dont see where it would cause a problem. You mean it will have a vavle to fill the oem tank correct?

there is an install kit with a ball valve in it. connect the line from your aux tank to the filler tube on your truck. the ball valve shuts off flow when the filler tube is full preventing more fuel to drain into your regular tank until level drops. it keeps your stock fuel tank full until auxillary tank is empty. so depending on how large your aux tank, you could drive 700 miles or more before the fuel gauge shows any fuel being used. just wondering if this will effect the ecm which i assume controls this miles to empty function.

Capacity and cost of the tank? I am looking for around 40-50 gallon. I found a cheap 100 gallon, but that is way to much.

I believe the computer will think that your factory tank is full until it starts dropping after the aux tank is empty and it will show miles to empty based on a full factory tank and your mpg. It will not know you have the aux tank. Basically your miles to empty will stay the same until the aux is empty and the factory tank starts empting.
