Fresh Fluids

Today had some spare time with my shop people so decided to change the fluids. 104,000 total miles

50k on trans oil with deep Mag-Hytec pan
40k on rear axle
60 k on front axle
104k on transfer case.

Magnetic plugs had very little metal attached, very fine sized what I would call normal to minimal wear. Trans oil was a bit dark colored but nowhere bad. The axle oils about the same and the t-case oil was still very clean and bright colored.

Should be good for another 100k with a change or two in between.

Now just got to hook up the 5th wheel and get out of town and have a fishingboot

Mike I still haven't broke 50K.... you need to drive slower so I can catch up! Would you care to do a write up on the fluid changes, and maybe we can add that to an upcoming 6.7L sticky..

Neel, wish I could slow down but its tough. The good news I will be due for a new truck much sooner then you.

Did not think about a sticky otherwise would have taken pics. The one tip I can give is with air bags it makes it easy to lift the truck up for extra room underneath. Just pump up the bags and lift it. Especially helps on the rear axle to get the oil in. Those quart bottles with the pointed spout it was hard to tilt the bottle up high enough to empty it. With the air bags lifting, plenty of room now between axle and spare tire.

What fluids did you replace everything with? Mopar or others? If you could PM me a list of fluids and how much was needed of each I will add it to the sticky I am working on. I will as be doing this in the next 10k as my trans was done at 10k when I did my gauges. Also thinking of adding Mag-hytec pans at that time.. at least on the trans and rear diff, possibly front diff as well.

PS our toyhauler still has the cover on it
