i was reading on one of the forume that in california they now have to retrofit current emissions equipment to older vehicles. also the epa has planned to make california regs the standard nation wide. so will all states be forced into smog testing to get licenses. if so i have some thinking to do. i dont plan on removing and reinstalling dpf every time i renew registration.
Come on now,
don't you trust our: know-it-all, trust us we Know whats best for everyone our great CARB (Ca. Air Resources Board)
Anyway to your question, CARB is forcing us to either retrofit, replace, or retire older medium/heavy duty trucks in a phase out timeline. Even our diesel pump engines will meet the same fate. If you want to replace an engine with some gov grant cost share, the old block must be physically destroyed so it can never be used again. It is total BS that we are able to buy, at the time, trucks/engines that were 100% smog legal at purchase and then later on bureaucrats say opps, we were wrong and you can no longer use it. Sorry but it is on your dime.
I could keep
but we would be here all night. These are the same simple minded people that once suggested that we should pull water tanks with our discs so we can spray water over the disc to stop dust.
