Last Monday just as I almost got home from a 350 mile freeway trip, 75mph all the way, my overhead lit up with: Catalytic(sp?) "Converter plugged up needs service".
It did not say DPF plugged. Was driving completly normal up to now, 117,325 miles. With the overhead lit up power was cut back severly.
As I mentioned before my turbo speed sensor code (P2579) was popping up now and then so I thought this might be an issue causing problem. Replaced sensor ($294) and code went away. But then started getting P00F (fuel system over pressure relief) and a P1011 code(fuel pump psi too low). OK now lets change the fuel filter with new upgraded 5 micron filter ($35) and run it again. Runs fine under light load, but give a push on go pedal
and catalytic plugged warning comes on again with reduction in power.
Been told that many times with emmision problems it will show the dpf or one of the catalytic converters as having problems
. Now its been dropped off at the dealer and waiting for diagnosis. Hoping the diesel tech can get to it before he is off to 2 days of training certification to maintain his level IV certification required by Dodge.
