Valve lash adjustment anyone?

Has anyone had to do it yet? My rig's got 38k miles and I'm starting to hear some rocker noise especially at around 2k rpms. It's a stick and I use the jake break a lot. Could that be a factor? It's bad enough that I'm using the radio to make it go away for now. Could it be something else? Hope I'm just being paranoid, damn thing is so quiet compared to my 12v I find myself listening all the time. It's deffinatly a new sound.

I haven't heard of anyone needing to adjust valve lash, especially at low miles. I have 117,000+ miles and never adjusted and no noise yet. The service manual says: "The 24 valve overhead system is a low-maintance design. Routine adjustments are no longer necessary."

Not saying you need not to adjust, unless something unusual happened to your engine.

By the way you do not have a "Jake Brake", it is a exhaust brake, a totally different system.

I wouldnt worry about it until at least 150k even then there are guys that have not did it. As Dodgefamer said its a low maintenace system. Also if you are deleted what you could be hearing is timing rattle.

Thanks guys. I am deleted. Can you tell me more about "timing rattle". What is going on, and how does deleting cause it. Can it be fixed or is there any need?

Timing rattle is a by product of added timing. Its just gonna happen when you add more injection timing.
