Dave I would call sun coast or Goerend and ask them. I am not much of a trans guy. What parts you going with?

my buddy just bought the same truck that you have. How have you liked the 68r trans, how many miles, did you burn it up or is it starting to get weak?

I have 96k on my 2011 HO wit the auto and so far so good no complaints other than the crappy tow haul mode on downhill grades. Truck weighs 9780 full of fuel and average weight towed is around 10k I would say 60% of miles are loaded a d it's coast to coast border to border running so I have thrown every mountain steep grade at it possible been up in Canada a few times. But so far I luv my auto do miss slapping gears time to time lol

I went 107,000 miles before it had to be torn down. Ended up being the overdrive clutch packs that slipped and burn't. (See my 68rfe problems thread) As been said before, lock it out of OD with slow speed driving, even empty, at low rpm's not enough pressure to hold the clutch packs with the torque of the 6.7 at low rpm's.

I have 84K on mine It works ok I like it. But I have a shutter when pulling out when towing my 16K trailer. There is a Low reverse sprag in there that is week and skipping. i normaly pull out in manual 1st take each gear to 3K then shift. When you do that with the 68RFE you are useing that Low/reverse sprag. If I pull out in any gear above 2nd (3,4,5,6 ) It still pulls out in 1st but the Low/Reverse clutch is ingauged and you are not useing that sprag.

Now with all that said I want to install this kit.
http://www.transmissioncenter.net/68..._and_Parts.htm

with there roller clutch to replace the weak low/reverse sprag. I want to do it myself to learn I only ever did one other auto trans rebuild. I got the book on the tranny that takes me through step by step But they have about 10 tools in the back and I dont want to by that special seal driver if i can use my unaversal seal driver if you know what I mean.
