Need input

I just bought a toy hauler to pull with my 2007 3500 with a 6.7. It has 120,000 miles on it now and still runs good. The issue I have is the toy hauler weighs in at 18,000 lbs empty. According to the Dodge website my truck is rated at 15,050 max. It pulls the toy hauler without any trouble, but, I want to take the necessary steps to prevent any issues. Should I put a Edge Juice in it to increase the horsepower, and something to adjust the pressure in the transmission so the clutches will not slip. Any advise will be appreciated.

Thanks
John

The easiest thing to do is install a Sonnax line booster. It just plugs into the wiring harness coming out of transmission. It increases the line pressure to the clutches for less slippage. I put one in in my 07.5 after I burnt the od clutches. It will feel like you have plenty of power in od but the line pressures are to low at lower rpm's when towing. Also do not tow that heavy in 5th or 6th gear. Both gears use the od clutches which are prone to slipping with heavy tows, low rpm in od.

Thanks Dodgefarmer for the info. What you said makes sense. I am ordering the transmission part this week. My next question is what programmer can I use? I called and checked on the Edge juice with attitude and was told you could no longer do the EGR cooler delete. I could however pay additional money and get the DPF delete and the pipe. I am looking for better fuel economy when towing, not trying to race the truck. In regards to the EGR delete I was told that I could remove the EGR cooler and my engine light would come on but it would not effect the engine. What is yo thoughts on all of this.

Thanks again
John

I stayed stock, didn't use programmers, others here could give you better answers. Doing deletes/programmers in CA gets you in trouble with the smog cops.
