AISIN Transmission.

What's everyone's thoughts on this transmission.

I have some problems the way Dodge is doing this.
This trany having a super high O/D
.63:1 (GOOD)
But only offered with the Cummins with the 4.10:1 Axle and not the 3.73:1
(Bad)

Also it's only offering it for the Commerical vechiles as well.
I hope that Einsteins of the Dodge/Cummins trucks figure out a way to mate these two to our older ISB engines.
I know it'll go together. But I the eletric issues will be there.

I have no lust for a new Cummins. I can't even hear them run, too quite.

I just want that Trany behind my 98.5 ISB 24v and infront of my Dana 70 w/ 3.55 gears.:smoke: :smoke: :smoke: :smoke: :smoke: :smoke: :smoke:

I'm also a wire geek too, so I'm up to the task if some one gives me free one.

Yeah, everything I've read, is that the trans will come behind the new 4500 and 5500 in 07, and then be put in the 2500's and 3500's in 08. This was posted on a quote un quote official press release on TDR. Things are always subject to change though, so who knows. It would be a cool trans to have though.

You'll never see a Allison offered in a Dodge. They could have done it along time ago if they wanted to, look at the school bus's and RV's that have the 2.
I think Allison has to much GM influence.

Just a thought................
I bet if you had a stock Duramax with a modded Allison.
That trany would probably last Million miles.

I have a Allison out of a school bus that would bolt up with a few slight mods.

I don't know how much this means but at the car show they had a new chasis cab, but it was only a 3500 HEAVY DUTY(in red letters) with the 6.7/aisin combo. My friend has all the pictures of the truck, engine, and trans. I will see if I can get him to scan them online.
