6.7 Warrenty

Gm is talkign about buying back my 07, so I have been lookign around, I still feel imo gm makes a great product but after the wya hte general has treated me no more. I hate fords new 6.0's and 6.4's so that leaves me to a dodge. (I can stillg et the stick as well). My question is (and the local dodge dealer cant answer) For big rigs, cummins will give you a loaner TRUCK to finish your load. I imagine this is only for the big rigs, class 8 trucks but reading cummins website I dont find a definitive answer. The warrenty (from ads i have read in big rig magazines, of coursce cover the engine only, (cummins warrenty) and covers if the truck is gonna be down for more then 24 horus. WOuld this apply to thier 4500's, 5500's 3500's???? Seems very unlikely (esp some 5500 dodges etc will get wrecker bodies and where are they gonna find a replacemtn wrekcer for you??) but I thought I would ask local dodge dealre doesnt think so , but I havent seen in cummins advertisemnt where they make the cut off, (what class or gvrew trucsk, or that there are any specific motor restrictions (they cover isx's but not the 6.7's etc. It would be great esp if I start plowing w/my truck commercially, to be able to know if there are any problems, Im gonna get another truck not a impala liek gm gives me, if they give me a loaner car.

GM will pay for a rental truck if you own a C5500 and up. Just need to ask the service dept to set it up. Usually customer pays for the rental then gets reimbursed by the dealership.

Nobody, not Ford, GM or IH for that matter is gonna be able to loan you the exact body configuration of the truck you bring in for service, you know that!

If you have a street sweeper go down, then you have to rent one from a place like National Lift Equipment, etc.

Does the cummins guarentee apply to the 6.7??? I know no one is gonna find the exact body replacement but they guarentee a replacemtn truck//what if you got a double framed, 2 spd rear end tri axle semi tractor cummins cant find you a replacment for that turck, but their warrenty (i knwo on the big motors) says they will.

I don't think any Diesel company will jump through hoops for you.

Dodge has a program called Business Link yes, but all it is a Chrysler Service Contract for alternate transportation. IE, rental. Rental companies do not allow you to tow. But, at least you won't be stranded.

Hey JD,sorry to hear about GM not treating you well. I agree unfortunately. Dodge is basically the only way out, except I'd steer you towards a Sterling as the a re priced a bit better  . I think I'm probably going to end up buying another used D-Max but get a 3500 this time unless I see that the Sterling/Dodge 4500/5500 will be trouble free.
