Gas

From what I understand, it is for only the gassers. But for those of us that like to keep a good truck around, it should be a great deal.

Its only on the gassers, even the trans in the diesel is disqualified.
I know cummins cost more to replace but shold last longer to start w/. The warrenty is kind of a joke from waht the dodge dealer told me it only covers THE ENGINE ITSELF, trans itself, ntot any of the sensors etc that usually go haywire. warrenty is only good to the origional owner fo the truck. I really wonder if somone would keep the truck 20+ years and had a motor failure where theyll find a new hemi w/the right ports holes etc to bolt up.

1996 Gmc k2500 4x4 6.5 turbo diesel, with mods Blew the head gasket, put all new heads, valves, injecotrs gaskets etc on the truck only to get it together and find out it had no oil pressure, and sounded horrible (pry a spun bearing). SOLD

I usually run a good truck for at least 12 years, so this may be good for me. Probably if a Hemi failed at 20 years they would replace it with a current Hemi of the time. They would have to make it non-transferable, or they would go broke on that deal.....Now people in the salt belt like me, would have a tough enough time keeping the rust at bay to get use out of the driveline warrenty.

but in 20 years who knows waht the new cars will run on maybe all ethanol what fi i want my gas motor. What if new cars have new emissions stuff, and i want my old gas guzzling polluting truck. What if in 2010 they quit production of the hemi and I buy one in 2010 and run it 20 years??? I know what yo umean abbout the salt belt but if you really keep your truck tha tlong id def look into painting the underside w/por or linex to keep it from rusting and fully utilize the warrenty. Like is aid most of the time though the mtoor trans is what they cover and most of the time that doenstn fail its the belts, sensors etc that fail.

My last truck was a 1992 Ford Ranger bought new.....Sold it in 2004 with 146,000 miles on it with the original front end parts still tight, and running like a champ. Only sold it because the wife talked me into buying a new Ford Ranger with 4x4 and the 4.0 v6. I sold the 1992 to my boss's nephew, a teenage, and he ran it for a year, then sold it to my boss that ran it for about a year then traded it in. Not a bad track record on that one.....So the point being is I can make them last.:
