Fire Hazard

Has anyone heard anymore on the insulation that is falling down on the egr cooler and possibly catching fire? Checked mine the other day and it is really loose and about an inch from touching plus talked to my local dealer he has not heard anything and i have not recieved a recall letter but if it catches while im driving im going to let it burn and then get a brand new one

I check with my dealer also and they don't know anything about it. Even check for any recall by VIN and nothing shows up.

guess i am out of luck on the new truck aspect. my intuition told me to take out the egr and egr cooler some time ago. i just new there would be a good reason as to why i did it. guess no bonfire party for me.

Yea I'm out of luck too No bonfire for me either. I'd say best way to keep your truck happy and burn free. Weight reduction! You'll see what I mean when you delete that egr cooler, big chunk of worthless metal lol that does nothing but get hot, recycle bad air into the motor... oh and possibly turn your truck into a fireball!

Thank you EPA.
