Really matters what you want to do with it, if you tow alot leave it stock or any extra power can make it slip. But a good rule to follow is at 100+ hp you need to build the tranny up.

I have an e/a stacked with a mp8 5' delete kit and I set the edge to control various parameters,(defuel),in order to help control my driving style. I pull backhoes, skidsteers , 5th wheels and more. I have close to 30 000 miles and play rough sometimes and have yet to experience a single problem with motor or tranny. The edge claims to be 100 hp as well as 100 hp from the mp8. The added tq totals 450 ft lb's. I have never dynoed so I don't know real numbers at the rear wheel. I will tell you that with all the juice at 100% you will run out of fuel and will need to install a faas or similar pump. The beauty of this setup is that it allows for adjustment for all types of driving.

It is a module made by TS Performance. It plugs in to the end of the fuel rail and increases your fuel pressure. You would also take out the plug on the front side of the fuel rail and shim it to allow for more pressure before signalling the computer. It has a variable swith control that would mount in the cab. In my experience with this module I have found it to provide the best MPG return.

Not to step on anyones toes but in my opinon the 68RE is a nice trans. But I feel the converter slips to much under hard acceleration. The clutches hold just fine and thats what my Edge is set at also to defuel when it feels the clutches slip and when the converter is locked if it slips, and it doesnt. So ive been looking at a converter with some kinda valve body mod and clutches. The only problem with the trans is that the hard parts are way to small( shafts input and output). I was told by Suncoast that they are half the size of the 48RE's.
