Emissions...

I was wondering if anyone that has removed their DPF has had a smog check afterwards?

Here's where I'm going with this... The new 6.7L CTD is advertised as being able to pass 2010 emissions testing. Well, the only requirement right now is to pass the new 2007 standards. If that's the case, can we remove the DPF and still pass the 2007 standards?

Yes, our trucks are grandfathered in as they were built in 07

Mine was built in 07 but is considered 08 model. Same thing? If so DPF will go bye bye.

in new york we have a diesel emissions test. this is done annually. i bought my truck in kentucky, and drove it back. it had almost 1100 miles on it when i brought it in for the inspection. the mechanic was surprised at the noise level and lack of smoke. the truck just barely passed. he said the 02 model with 100k had a lower reading than mine. i'm was going to bring it back and get another test, but i'll wait for the year to be up. in north carolina all that is involved is a safety check, headlights, directional, tires, etc. you can drive anything as long as it is safe. they will ticket you for loud, and seatbelts, and tires outside of the body.
