I have yet to have any real issue with my 08. Never any problems before I started modifying and just ran better afterwards.

Most problems you will find on the 6.7s are related to the emissions. I think that was mostly on the 07's although I have seen guys with 08's posting up similar problems. I know my 07 has had the dpf replaced, egr replaced, turbo cleaned, turbo replaced, o2 sensors rplaced, comp as been flashed about 6 times. I relate my problems to the truck having "new" technology. I have heard others complain about the weak stock clutches. My truck is stock so I have not noticed any problems with my clutch. As far as general maintenance problems go the only thing I can complain about is that whoever thought the new fuel filter set up was a good idea needs to go and lay in front of a bus. The old fuel filter was much easier to change. I have been looking to buy a small adolecent primate to make changing my fuel filter easier.

the only problems i had was the egr valve had to be cleaned and the dpf replaced a few thousand miles ago . i think it was mostly due to the earlier ecm programming for the emmissions . as far as the truck and engine goes , i have had zero problems and love my truck . the cummins is a great engine and the straight six has about half as many moving parts as a v-8 .

started with 1996 2500 4x4 auto
then a 2004.5 2500 4x4
now have a 2007.5 6.7 4x4 3500 drw mega cab 3:73 rear G56

Most everything has been discussed at one time or another on the threads on the site. Take some time and look for yourself. You'll find some common complaints/concerns that keep popping up. If you ask you'll get a few with specific problems but reading the threads will give you a better idea and a much bigger picture on what to look for.

Good luck

ps Telling me your posting on the other threads feels like it's somehow going to be my problem if you buy the wrong truck...buy what you want. I don't care. You have to live with it.
